Science Academy Success

The Fraser Heights Integrated Math and Science Academy will be accepting 45 Grade 11 students for the 2025-2026 school year. The selection process for this program will involve student grades, references, a practical lab activity and scientific task. Applications are due: February 13th, 2025. (Please hand into school office by 3pm) Students will be notified of their acceptance into the program by the beginning of March.

Please drop off all completed applications to the front office of Fraser Heights Secondary by Feb 13th, 2025. The office hours are from 7:45 to 3:30 pm during school days.

This year, there will be a Live Virtual Webinar Information Session on February 4th at 7:00pm. This webinar will be available on Microsoft Teams. The join code is: 5tgj3op. If you are not from this district, please send an email to Mr. Ahn ([email protected]) requesting to be added to the Teams.

After applying, students will complete a Scientific Task and a practical lab activity. Here is a sample of the Scientific Task. The Practical Lab activity is not meant to be studied for, it will test the students ability to communicate their scientific thinking.

Important Dates

February 4th: 7:00pm - Virtual Information Session

February 13th - Applications Due

February 25th or 26th - Practical Test and Scientific Task will be held. Students will be assigned to one of these sessions:

  February 25th: 2:15 – 3:15 or 3:30 – 4:30.

  February 26th: 3:15 – 4:15 or 4:30 – 5:30.

February 26th - Out of school applicants will be invited to attend an open house 1:30 pm. They will assigned to the 3:15 Practical Test on that day

Note: Pre-requisites:

*Students do not have to have the pre-requisites of Pre-Calculus 11 and Science 10 completed before they apply. However, they must have it completed by the end of the 2024-2025 school year (June).
